Privacy Policy
For Remove Annoying Elements (Chrome Extension)
1. Overview
Remove Annoying Elements is a lightweight utility that lets you hide or remove unwanted elements from webpages you visit. This extension is designed with privacy in mind: all actions happen locally in your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell personal data.
2. Data Collection
We do not collect any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information (such as name, email, address)
- Health, financial, or authentication information
- Location data or web browsing history
- User activity such as keystrokes, mouse movements, or scroll data
- Website content (text, images, or media from pages you visit)
Any element removal or page modification occurs entirely on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. If you choose to use features like Export/Import of your own rules, those files remain under your control.
3. Permissions Used
The extension requests the minimum permissions required to perform its single purpose:
- activeTab – to interact with the currently active page at your request.
- scripting – to inject a small script that removes selected elements when you ask it to.
- Host permissions (
<all_urls>
) – so the extension can function on any site where you choose to use it. No site data is collected.
We do not use remote code, do not load external scripts, and do not use eval()
.
4. Data Sharing & Selling
We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties. We do not use analytics, cookies, or tracking of any kind within the extension.
5. Security
The extension runs locally and modifies pages only at your direction. All code is bundled within the extension package to avoid remote code execution risks. Keep your browser and extensions up to date for the best security posture.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the Last updated date above and publish the new version. Your continued use after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
